Friends of the University of Auckland NZ/US Exchange Scholarships

L to R, Jonathan Mason (US Friends), James Greenwood, Rebekah Bower, Nina Seja, Wan Lee, Anna Crowe, Jizelle Yates, Lexi Potter

Shown above are some of the scholars who have been supported by gifts from donors to Friends US/NZ Exchange Scholarship program and who were able to meet up with each other at The University of Auckland on the 19th of August. While not all of the 2011 scholars could attend the event, this year they are a mixture of outbound and inbound students.

The University of Auckland graduates going to the US are: three Harvard bound graduates, Charlotte Leslie & Anna Crowe (both to the Law School) and Divya Dhar (Kennedy School of Government); Brendon Orr who will pursue his study of law at Chicago; and Nina Seja who is concluding her PhD in cinema studies at NYU.

Of the US citizens attending The University of Auckland three came from Pacific states: Lexi Potter from Washington, Rebekah Bower from Alaska, and Jizelle Yates from Hawaii. They are pursuing their interests in anthropology, biomedicine and speech therapy respectively. James Greenwell and Wan Lee come from Maryland and Michigan, to learn more about public health and development studies.
